The NID Barformer continuously forms ropes by a three roller system. It
is not an extruder. The two top rollers push the material downwards on to
the bottom solid 'Teflon' roller which has correctly sized grooves. The
Ropes thus formed move with the rotation of the bottom roller, and at the
lowest point, the Ropes exit the roller and flow on to the belt below,
which is travelling at the same speed. The NID Barformer can also be set
up as a Sheet former to feed the Barformer or the NID Nidomat.
The NID Transport Conveyor takes the Ropes on to the Guillotine. The
output end of this conveyor has a short section which accelerates the Bar
away from the Guillotine blade.
The NID Guillotine with it's unique elliptical blade action allows the
blade to travel at rope speed whilst it cuts slowly and vertically through
the Bar ropes. The blade is 'Teflon' coated and has a stripping
facility.
